Why Autos Grind Exists
Five years ago, one of us bought a first car. Suddenly the family could take road trips and spend weekends together. A car ends up holding a lot of memories, which is why buying one feels like such a big decision.
When we started researching, most articles buried the answer under torque curves and suspension geometry. We wanted to know four things. Is it comfortable? Is it reliable? Does it suit the family? Is it worth the money?
So we built Autos Grind to answer those questions first. We go deeper only when the detail matters.

Enthusiast forums, owner communities and long-term ownership reports. We treat these as anecdotal evidence, not statistical proof. They help us spot patterns, and we then look for harder data to back them up.
Original Analysis
Car data often disagrees with itself. Complaint counts, repair surveys and owner reports can point in different directions. Part of our job is explaining why that happens and what it means for the buyer.
How We Handle Automotive Data
Some of our tools use formulas, public data and industry estimates. Car costs vary by location, condition, model year and personal circumstances, so calculator results are estimates, not guaranteed prices. You can find all of them on our Car Calculators page.
